Celebrating Learning and Growing with Grameenphone Academy

Grameenphone Academy celebrated three years of success with a vibrant event held on 6th December, 2025 at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka. More than 450 students attended the celebration alongside officials of Grameenphone and representatives from partner organizations.
The event highlighted key milestones achieved over the past three years, including 100K unique students, 237K+ enrolments, a growing facebook community with 15K people, 100K certifications from 167+ institutions nationwide.
The success of the Freelancing Factory Program was a major highlight. Within just one year, 50 students from the program collectively earned USD 60,000, and two students founded their own agencies, showcasing the real-world impact of skill-based learning.
Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman praised the learners’ passion and growth mindset, stating:
“The enthusiasm, creativity, and energy of the learners at Grameenphone Academy have inspired me and made all of us at Grameenphone optimistic about the country’s digital future. Upskilling in technology is not only the need of the hour but also essential for both national and personal progress. Through Grameenphone Academy, we aim to contribute to building a future-ready workforce for Bangladesh.”
The program was opened by an energetic dance performance by students of East West university; every step reflected Grameenphone Academy's milestones. Following that, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) Tanveer Mohammad, Head of ESG Farhana Islam, and Head of Grameenphone Academy Farhana Hossain Shammu shared the inspiring milestone journey of Grameenphone Academy.
An audio-visual presentation capturing the Academy’s three-year impact was then revealed, followed by the unveiling of a mathematically generated GP Academy logo, designed by a student using 123 formula-based equations, symbolizing creativity through logic and innovation.
The stage then lit up with the empowering “SHERO on Fire” segment, an engaging conversation between Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Sayeda Tahya Hossain and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Farha Naz Zaman, hosted by Masuma Rahman Nabila. The discussion highlighted women’s leadership, corporate resilience, and personal growth. A stunning Trashion Show by Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology followed, promoting sustainability and environmental awareness through upcycled fashion creations.
The program continued with “CEO x CEO,” a special where Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone Ltd., engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with Neel Nafis, Founder of MZ Media, sharing their perspectives on leadership, growth, and the evolving meaning of success. Together, they bridge the generational gap and inspire youth to dream bigger and lead bolder. Two Generations, One Vision.
The Certificate Giving Ceremony honored outstanding achievements from the Grameenphone Academy community, including:
-The first certified student
-The student with the highest number of completed courses (26)
-The Tote Bag Design Competition winner, whose design was featured on all distributed tote bags
-The student honored for recreating the GP Academy logo through equations
-Freelancing Factory mentors for their guidance
-The top three earners and all students who achieved over $1,000 in earnings under the Freelancing Factory program
After the lunch break, the celebration continued with an energetic Mind and Motion session by A.S. Taj, followed by an insightful talk “Career in the AI Era” by Munir Hasan, Chief Coordinator, Digital Transformation & Youth Programme, Prothom Alo.
The evening concluded with a live performance by popular singer Pritom Hasan, bringing the celebration to a memorable close filled with energy, creativity, and inspiration.
